![]() Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences Announces Record EnrollmentNovember 4, 2009 Orlando, FL – (WiredPRNews.com) — The Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) is pleased to announce that has established a new record for Fall semester enrollment in its online Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. The program now has 120 bachelor’s degree candidates. The online Diagnostic Medical Sonography program was established in 2009 and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The program also awarded its first Baccalaureate degree earlier this year. “We are excited by the number of students who want to further their education in the field of diagnostic medical sonography,” says Charlotte Henningsen, Department Chair of the program. “FHCHS saw that there was a real need for advanced education in the sonography field and worked to develop an excellent program that allows qualified students to enroll, regardless of where they live.” The program is open to registered sonographers who have graduated from a regionally accredited institution with an Associate of Science Degree in medical sonography or allied health field and who also possess a certificate or diploma in medical sonography. Students must meet all admissions requirements to be admitted to the program. The program consists of 34 credits in imaging and sonographic sciences, and 27 general education credits. Qualified students can complete the degree requirements in nine fourteen-week trimesters, although students who enter the program without meeting all pre-requisites must complete additional credit hours to receive a degree. The online program is delivered in partnership with the Compass Knowledge Group, a leader in distance education and distance learning.
