Guwahati, December 11 (MExN): The first successful minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery of pancreatic cyst was performed by Dr. Pinak Dasgupta (Consultant GI, Minimal Access and Bariatric Surgeon), at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Guwahati. A press release said that a patient from Meghalaya was diagnosed with 12 cm pseudocyst of pancreas with chronic pancreatitis and uncontrolled blood sugar. After evaluation at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, he underwent total Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Cystojejunostomy – a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery of Pancreatic Cyst and was discharged 4 days post-surgery. Laparoscopic surgeries give the patients all the benefits of a minimal invasive surgery such as no big scar, minimal postoperative pain, early mobilisation and discharge from Hospital.
