Based on assessment of the fourteen-day cumulative numbers of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 residents, people who return to Latvia from or have recently visited the following countries have to self-isolate for fourteen days: Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Andorra, Bulgaria, Romania, Luxembourg.

The Disease Prevention and Control Center also does not recommend traveling to these countries.

The self-isolation requirement does not apply to residents returning from the following third countries: Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay. In turn, the fourteen-day self-isolation must be observed by residents returning to Latvia from Russia, Belarus and all other third countries that are not specifically identified in the Disease Prevention and Control Center's list.

Of all the European Union and European Economic Area countries, Luxembourg currently has the highest Covid-19 incidence - 200.8 cases per 100,000 residents. Romania has the second highest rate of 54 cases per 100,000 residents, followed by Bulgaria - 45.4 cases per 100,000 residents.

The Vatican is currently the only state with no active Covid-19 cases.

The self-isolation requirement does not apply to arrivals from countries where the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases does not exceed 16 per 100,000 population.
