CLIVE, Iowa — On Saturday, the Iowa Republican party gathered for the 2024 state convention at the Horizon Events Center.

The convention lining up elected officials to speak to Iowa Republican voters ahead of the primary and general election season. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Attorney General Brenna Bird speaking to the crowd, getting the based excited to get out to vote this year.

“You know why we are electing republicans? You know why we have confidence in this next election? It’s because republicans get things done,” said Reynolds.

“Can I tell President Trump that we have his back? That we stand behind him? That we will will this state big for President Trump,” said Bird to a cheering crowd.

Other speakers at the event included Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01), Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02), Congressman Zach Nunn (IA-03), Kevin Virgil, a candidate in IA-04 and David Pautsch, a candidate in IA-01. Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst sent back video messages and Congressman Randy Feenstra (IA-04) was unable to attend due to an operation he had done in Washington, D.C.
