HKScan Estonia hires 44 summer workers

HKScan Estonia, subsidiary of the Nordic food group HKScan, hired 44 summer employees at the Rakvere meatpacking plant to service the increased demand of the summer period, informs LETA/BNS.

"Considering that last year we reached the absolute sales record of Rakvere's brand products in June and that sales volumes this year are already now greater than last year, then there are very busy weeks starting at the Rakvere meatpacking plant," CEO of HKScan Estonia Anne Mere said in a press release. According to Mere, the sale of shashlik meat has increased by a third.


The Rakvere meatpacking plant during the week that includes the June 23-24 Victory Day and Midsummer Day holidays will send to customers in Estonia and further away approximately 1.3 million kilograms of various products. According to Mere, the sales volumes of boiled sausage also increase 10-15 percent in June.


Rakvere's products are part of the product selection of HKScan Estonia. HKScan is a Nordic meat producer, which produces and markets pork, been, poultry meat and mutton, processed meat and ready-made food. HKScan saw a loss of 18 million euros last year, while the company's revenue in 2017 was 1.8 billion euros. The HKScan Group also includes HKScan Estonia, which owns the Rakvere meat packing plant and poultry producer Tallegg. The group exports its products to more than 50 countries and employs over 7,300 people.
