Ernie Bailey, CTS, Named InfoComm Volunteer of the Year

ANAHEIM, California--InfoComm International(R), the premier professional audiovisual trade association, presented its Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award to Ernie Bailey, CTS, during InfoComm's annual AV Awards Ceremony. The event took place at InfoComm 07, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow worldwide, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

For more than 20 years, Bailey has been a contributor to the audiovisual industry and the association. He has 26 years of industry experience, has attended InfoComm (formerly NAVA) for 23 years, and has been a member of the association for 22 years, often serving on councils and committees. He also maintains his CTS credential, has participated in each Fall Leadership Forum and was elected Chair of the Technology Managers Council in 2006.

"Ernie Bailey is an outstanding AV industry leader. When few thought it could be done, he championed the concept of AV Week and helped make it a reality in October 2006," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. "As a result, more than 30 events took place around the country last fall to celebrate the AV industry and the people who make AV events happen." At the University of Arkansas he brought together faculty, IT staff, administrators and AV professionals in a full-day conference on the use of AV on campus.

Bailey serves as the Director of Audiovisual Services at the University of Arkansas for Medical Services in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ernie is also a devoted husband and father of three children.

The Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award is awarded by the InfoComm Board of Governors to uncover and celebrate the volunteer who has contributed greatly to the Association within the past one to two years and who is not recognized in other ways for that contribution.

The AV Awards Ceremony is co-sponsored by ARCHI-TECH magazine, Plasa's Lighting&Sound America and NewBay Media's Rental & Staging Systems and Systems Contractor News magazines.
