Study: Green Tea is Effective against Genital Warts; The CBCD Recommends Novirin against the Latent HPV

“Infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV)? The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD), which tested the formula of Novirin in two post-marketing clinical studies, recommends taking this natural antiviral supplement.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD

Green tea is effective against genital warts, which are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Genital warts are considered to be benign lesions, or growths. Studies show that green tea extracts “have antitumor and antiproliferative effects in vitro (in the lab).” (1) Additionally, many new treatments against HPV, which cause genital warts, include green tea extracts. (See the Dermatology Online Journal, from June 15, 2013) (2) Some doctors believe that these effects may be due to their antiviral nature. Dr. Stephen T. Kyring wrote in a study that “green tea catechins possess a wide range of pharmacological properties, including antiviral, anti-infective, and immunostimulatory properties … catechins have been shown to have antiproliferative properties in various cell lines and may have direct virucidal (virus killing) effect.” (See The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, from February 5, 2012) (3) Additionally, Dr. Kyring wrote that “The United States Food and Drug Administration has approved a topical ointment formulation of sinecatechins, derived from green tea catechins and other tea components, for the treatment of external genital and perianal warts.” (3)

The CBCD recommends that HPV infected individuals take Novirin. This natural antiviral product has a patented formula, which includes Camellia Sinesis Extract (green tea extract). Additionally, this formula was found to reduce HPV symptoms in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.

The formula of Novirin was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD. The studies showed that the Novirin formula is effective against the HPV and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy. The first study was published in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs.

Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the HPV…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with (the formula of Novirin).” (4) The study authors also wrote that “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (4)

Novirin can be ordered online on the Novirin website here: http://www.novirin.com.

Novirin is a natural antiviral dietary supplement. Its formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose were chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses.

To date, Novirin is the only natural antiviral product on the market with published clinical studies that support its claims.

Green tea extract has many health benefits. “The medicinal properties of tea leaves have been known for thousands of years. Tea leaves, produced from the plant Camellia sinensis, contain two unique bioactive compounds - flavonoids and methylxanthines. Methylxanthines, including caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline, are a group of alkaloids that are present in small quantities. Flavonols, which are a subtype of flavonoids, and also known as catechins, are the polyphenolic compounds that constitute 25 to 35 percent of green tea and are responsible for most of its beneficial effects … catechins, namely EGCg, have a wide variety of beneficial effects, including assisting in the prevention of chronic diseases ranging from cancer to cardiovascular diseases.” (3)

Additionally, green tea extract is the “first botanical agent approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for prescription use and is indicated for use as a topical patient-applied treatment for external genital and perianal warts.” (3)

“Topical ointments, etc. that use green tea extract as an ingredient are designed to fight genital warts, which are a physical result of HPV activity. Novirin, on the other hand, has a formula with no reported side effects that was designed to target the latent HPV virus, and is taken orally.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD

What other treatments are available against the HPV?

“There are no drugs approved against the HPV. Current treatments include procedures, such as cryotherapy, conization, and the Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). These procedures use liquid nitrogen, a surgical knife (scalpel), a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, or electrical current to remove the abnormal growths caused by the HPV. These growths include cells that harbor the active virus. The procedures do not target cells with the latent virus. Since they do not remove the latent virus, these procedures only produce a temporary remission.” (4)

In contrast, Novirin was designed to target the latent HPV.
