New Genital Herpes Guidelines Still Fail to Warn against the Danger of the Latent Virus; The CBCD Reviews the Guidelines

The CBCD reviews new herpes guidelines and recommends Gene-Eden-VIR against the latent HSV.

Importantly, the formula of these natural antiviral products was shown to reduce the symptoms of active herpes infections in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.

“Infected with the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1 or HSV-2)? The CBCD recommends taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD

New genital herpes guidelines published by the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) have many shortcomings. The first is that they do not warn against the dangers posed by the herpes virus during its latent phase. In addition, the guidelines continue to recommend the acyclovir class of drugs although they are ineffective against the latent virus.

The reason for this is the belief that latent viruses are harmless. Dr. Hanan Polansky’s research, published in 2003 in his highly acclaimed “Purple Book,” however, shows that this belief is unfounded.

A number of studies showed that latent herpes viruses are not dormant. They continue to replicate and even shed during latency. For instance, one paper noted that “both the chronic and latent states of infection contribute to HCMV (Human Cytomegalovirus) persistence and to the high HCMV seroprevalence worldwide. The chronic infection is poorly defined molecularly, but clinically manifests as low-level virus shedding over extended periods of time and often in the absence of symptoms.” (1)

In addition, “Transcripts and proteins encoded from a region encompassing the major immediate early region are detected in hematopoietic cells following infection in vitro as well as in latently infected individuals.” (2). These papers showed that latent herpes viruses are still replicating even when they are not considered “active,” that is, even when they are not causing an outbreak.

As it turns out, this low scale replication is profoundly important. As Dr. Hanan Polansky’s showed, in his book entitled “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease” (3), this low scale replication is the initial molecular event that cascades into most major diseases that kill millions of people each year.

One mission of the CBCD is to help combat chronic diseases that are caused by latent viruses, such as the latent HSV. Therefore the Center strives to raise awareness about this, and other latent viruses and their effects.

That’s why the CBCD recommends taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. Importantly, the formula of these natural antiviral products was shown to reduce the symptoms of active herpes infections in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.

The formula of Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the formula of Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR is effective against a broad range of latent viruses, including herpes viruses (HSV-1 and HSV-2). The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with (a latent virus) … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment…” (4) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (4)

Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose were chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses.

To date, Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims. Note: Novirin has the same formula as Gene-Eden-VIR. However, it contains higher quality and more expensive ingredients.
