Halloween's coming at us scarier than ever with the real life threat of the Coronavirus and for many families that means one more cancellation of the many favorite traditional fun things about life we lost out on in 2020.

But wait, you say you have taken all the necessary precautions and you are goblin good to go?  Well played.  But what about spooky safety outside of the pandemic concerns?
Fox News is reporting that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has made a list of safety tips that have nothing to do with the pandemic.
First, they advise choosing a costume labeled “flame resistant,” or using flame-resistant materials should you make your own costume.
You should also add a bright, reflective material to your costume that will make you more visible when outside in the dark.
Trim your cape or adjust you costume to make sure you’re not tripping over your outfit as you head out.
Wear a hat or makeup rather than a full character mask to keep your vision clear.
Make sure to pretest using the makeup you plan to wear.
You should also steer clear of wearing decorative (colored) contact lenses "unless you’ve seen an eye care professional for a proper fitting, adding If you have never worn contact lenses before, Halloween should not be the first time you do."
Finally, "If you do get some candy this year, make sure you don’t eat it until you’ve inspected the label to make sure it isn’t made with something you’re allergic to."
