The character of Kate Kane is coming back to the CW series Batwoman—but Ruby Rose won't be, according to out.com . British actress Wallis Day is joining the cast as Kane, the same character Rose played, after surviving a near-fatal accident. Day won't be donning the iconic cape and cowl though, Javicia Leslie's Ryan Wilder will still be the only one behind the mask. Day will play Kane without the title of Batwoman, in her life after passing on the mantle. According to IMDB.com, Day has been on such shows as Krypton, Hollyoaks and The Royals.

On a podcast, singer Adam Lambert revealed that he auditioned for the role of Lady Gaga's gay best friend, Ramon, in the recent remake of A Star is Born, even though he knew he wasn't the best fit for the part, out.com noted. "It's funny, I auditioned for that part in A Star Is Born," Lambert said on the podcast Brenda, Call Me! With Courtney Act and Vanity. "It was so funny to me, because they told me about it and they were like 'She's going to have like a gay best friend' and I was like 'Okay, that could be cute' and then I got the script. … His name was Latino, a lot of the slang that he was using [was Latin]. … This is not my part." The role eventually went to Anthony Ramos, star of the hit musical Hamilton.

GLAAD announced that the cast of Glee will reunite during the virtual ceremony for the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday, April 8, for a special tribute to the legacy of the late Naya Rivera's character, Santana Lopez, a press release stated. The tribute will honor the 10-year anniversary of Lopez coming out as lesbian in the GLAAD Media Award-winning series, and spotlight the character's impact on LGBTQ teens and Latinx LGBTQ representation on television. Demi Lovato, who played Santana's girlfriend on Glee, will introduce the special tribute during the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which will feature Glee cast members Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Alex Newell, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin and Jenna Ushkowitz.

Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation 1814" now joins other sounds of history and culture among the latest titles inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress, including Louis Armstrong's "When the Saints Go Marching In," Labelle's "Lady Marmalade," Nas' "Illmatic," Kool & the Gang's "Celebration" and Kermit the Frog's "The Rainbow Connection," a press release noted. Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden named 25 recordings as audio treasures worthy of preservation for all time based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation's recorded sound heritage. The recordings most recently selected for the National Recording Registry bring the number of titles on the registry to 575.

Campus Pride—dedicated to building future leaders and creating safer, more inclusive communities for LGBTQ people and allies at colleges and universities—announced a partnership with Max Original dramedy Genera+ion, which premiered with three episodes March 11 on HBO Max and drops new episodes every Thursday, a press release noted. Actors Michael Urie, Philemon Chambers and Luke MacFarlane are set to star in the LGBTQ+ holiday movie Single All the Way, a new project from Tony-winning director Michael Mayer, out.com noted. In the film, Peter (Urie) gets his best friend Nick (Chambers) to go home with him for the holidays and pretend the pair are in a relationship; Peter's mother sets him up on a blind date with her trainer, James (MacFarlane). Barry Bostwick, Jennifer Robertson, Jennifer Coolidge and Kathy Najimy are also in the film.

Out comedian/actress Wanda Sykes has signed with ICM Partners in all areas except personal appearances and comedy touring, according to Deadline. The Emmy winner can be seen beginning May 12 in the Netflix comedy The Upshaws, in which she's co-showrunner, executive producer and supporting actress. The series centers on a working-class African American family in Indiana.

Jane Lynch is coming back to network comedy with a new starring role in the upcoming ABC series Bucktown, according to out.com . The five-time Emmy winner gets her first network series regular role since she starred in Glee as she is set to star in the sitcom about a daughter who moves back in with her mother. Shannon Woodward will portray Lynch's daughter, Amy, and Nicole Ritchie rounds out the cast as Jan, Amy's self-centered boss.

John Waters, the legendary filmmaker and king of trash cinema, is joining the upcoming fourth season of the hit Amazon comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, out.com noted. Waters is one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation, writing and directing cult classic films like Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Cry-Baby and the original Hairspray. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is one of the most critically acclaimed films of the last decade, garnering 20 Emmys and three Golden Globes.

Grammy winner Jody Watley ("Looking for a New Love") has been appointed to be National Museum of African American Music's first-ever membership ambassador, according to Eurweb. Located in downtown Nashville, the museum officially opened Jan. 30 and celebrates every musical genre from blues and hip-hop to gospel and R&B; it also explores the musical impact on the Civil Rights movement as well as the Harlem Renaissance, according to Rolling Out. On the fifth anniversary of Prince's passing, his estate has created a special way to remember the Minneapolis music icon: free visitation to pay respects in Paisley Park's atrium, where his ashes will be on display, The StarTribune reported. There will be no tours April 21 at Paisley Park in Chanhassen. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., people will be allowed inside by reservation for 30-minute visits to the atrium. Masks are required. There will be 70 time slots available, with 20 people per slot, and no cellphone photos will be allowed. Reservations may be made at PaisleyPark.com .

Chart Data noted that Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" has become the most-streamed song in the United States, according to out.com . According to the Twitter account, the song, featuring Billy Ray Cyrus has more than 2.9 billion on-demand streams. In January, the song became the most certified song in U.S. history, having gone 14 times platinum.

In other Lil Nas X news, photographer/director Andrew Thomas Huang alleged that the out rapper copied FKA Twigs' "Cellophane" music video with his short movie for "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," according to out.com . Huang wrote in an Instagram Story featuring screen grabs of his work on the FKA Twigs project as well as a frame from Nas' new video, adding, "Been copied before but this feels different. Lil Nas X's label contacted me end of last year. Pivoted away then hired the same choreographer from 'Cellophane.'" The clip in question in the Nas X video revolves around a stripper pole. "Cellophane" notably lost the Grammy for Best Music Video to Nas X's "Old Town Road."

And in a third Lil Nas X item, he is doubling down on demonic imagery in his "Montero" video with the new Nike release "Satan Shoes," Page Six noted. The classic Air Max '97's have been revamped by collaborators MSCHF with the underworld in mind, coming in a limited-edition stock of 666 pairs, each individually numbered "x/666" in red embroidery. The shoes will also contain 66 ccs of red ink—as well as one drop of human blood. MSCHF also designed a comparable "Jesus Shoe"—featuring the son of God upon a crucifix—in 2019.

Former *NSYNC member Lance Bass reportedly signed the lease to rent the space in the Boystown LGBTQ district of West Hollywood where the Rage nightclub operated for 37 years, out.com noted. Bass is already a partner in Rocco's Restaurant/lounge across the street from the corner of Santa Monica and San Vicente boulevards. The space may become the largest gay nightclub in the nation, according to promos. Also, in New York's Hell's Kitchen, promoter Frankie Sharp is opening a new four-story gay club called The Q; he said The Q will be "the largest queer-owned and operated nightlife venue in Manhattan."

Musician Halsey has thanked fans for their support after subtly announcing her pronouns as she/they on social media, PinkNews noted. The "Bad at Love" singer delivered the news with little fanfare, simply changing the bio sections of her Twitter and Instagram pages. The star—currently pregnant with her first child—recently opened up about how the pregnancy has shaped her understanding of her gender.

Singer/American Idol judge Katy Perry is reportedly set to take up residency in Las Vegas later this year, NME.com noted, citing Billboard. Perry will take up residency at the new Resorts World casino in Vegas, which contains a 5,000-seater venue. Perry is also planning on releasing an access-all-areas documentary focusing on the "juicy" parts of her life, inspired by Taylor Swift and her 2019 Netflix documentary, Miss Americana.

Rock band Jane's Addiction is returning with Replay 2020—a new documentary and concert film featuring interviews with the group's Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Chris Chaney paired with a seven-song performance from the band's Virtual Lollapalooza performance from last summer (their first performance in three years), a press release announced. Creator/producer/actress Issa Rae (Insecure) re-upped her commitment to HBO, inking an new five-year overall deal that brings her Hoorae media label in partnership with WarnerMedia, Variety reported. The pact gives HBO, HBO Max and Warner Bros. television exclusive rights to Rae's work in TV, plus a first-look film deal that spans WarnerMedia brands, including Warner Bros. Pictures Group, New Line and HBO Max. Sources said the pact is valued at $40 million over five years—putting Rae's payday in line with fellow multi-hyphenate creator Donald Glover's lucrative new overall deal with Amazon.

Amid controversy and recriminations over misconduct and claims of offensive language by Osbourne on the show to co-hosts past and present, Sharon Osbourne has stopped co-hosting The Talk, Deadline reported. Having completed a probe into the heated March 10 discussion about race on The Talk, which triggered the controversy, CBS just put out a statement saying that Osbourne made the decision to depart the show. The network also said The Talk—on hiatus since March 12 in the immediate aftermath of Osbourne's on-air outburst—will be back April 12. After 11 seasons, Osbourne was the last original Talk co-host to remain on the series.

LGBT actor, model and producer Nyle DiMarco took to Instagram to reveal info about his upcoming film project—a 36-minute documentary that follows a hearing-impaired high school football player as he and his teammates attempt to keep alive the school's winning streak on the field while also coming to terms with the death of a close friend, out.com noted. The documentary, Audible, follows Amaree McKenstry-Hall at the Maryland School for the Deaf, and will premiere on Netflix later this year.

Jessica Walter, the award-winning actress whose career spanned six decades, passed away in her sleep at home in New York City, Deadline reported. She was 80. Walter's career included everything from Clint Eastwood's directorial debut, Play Misty for Me, to The Flamingo Kid and her Emmy-nominated turns on Trapper John M..D. and Streets of San Francisco. For her performance as Lucille Bluth in Arrested Development, Walter earned yet another Emmy nomination and two SAG nominations.

Stage Entertainment and Ghostlight Records announced that Tina—The Tina Turner Musical: Original Cast Recording is available on vinyl, according to a press release. Featuring Tony nominee Adrienne Warren and the original London cast, the album was released for download, streaming and CD formats in 2019. The LP includes liner notes, synopsis, and production and studio photography. Tina—The Tina Turner Musical is currently nominated for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Academy Award-nominated dramatic thriller Judas and the Black Messiah will arrive on PVOD on April 2; on Digital on April 27; and on Blu-Ray/DVD on May 4, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, a press release noted. The film is directed by Shaka King, marking his studio feature film directorial debut; it stars Oscar nominee Daniel Kaluuya as Fred Hampton and fellow Oscar nominee LaKeith Stanfield as William O'Neal. Judas and the Black Messiah made history this year by being the first film with an all-Black producing team nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Picture category.

Nomadland and Netflix's The Crown topped the 2021 Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards in a virtual ceremony, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Nomadland, a frontrunner for the best picture Oscar, took home the outstanding theatrical motion pictures award. Schitt's Creek won the first award of the night, for outstanding comedy TV series—nabbing the honor for its sixth and final season; and RuPaul's Drag Race won for outstanding producer of game/competition television. Other award winners included the animated film Soul, The Queen's Gambit, Hamilton, The Last Dance and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Netflix has set Halle Berry to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in the thriller Our Man From Jersey, Deadline noted. David Guggenheim penned the script, with Wahlberg and his partner Stephen Levinson producing. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is described as being about a blue-collar James Bond.

Evan Peters, one of Ryan Murphy's go-to actors, is set as the title character in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, a Netflix limited series co-created by longtime collaborators Murphy and Ian Brennan, Deadline reported. Another actor from the Ryan Murphy TV universe, Niecy Nash, is set to star in the seres, which also has cast Penelope Ann Miller, Shaun J. Brown and Colin Ford, sources said.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that a Broadway COVID-19 vaccination site reserved for theater-industry workers as part of a drive to get the industry on its feet by the fall, Deadline noted. The sites will be staffed by theater workers, many of whom lost their jobs when Broadway went dark March 12, 2020. The new vaccination sites will open over the next few weeks as statewide vaccine eligibility expands.

Rudy Giuliani allegedly tried to get the crew of Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm arrested for extortion, according to NME.com . The former New York mayor appeared in the movie, following Maria Bakalova's 15-year-old character into a hotel bedroom after a fake interview. In the scene, Giuliani is seen with his hands down his trousers while lying on the bed; he said he was tucking in his shirt. Speaking at the Producers Guild of America panel recently, producer Monica Levinson said former president Donald Trump's attorney had tried to get the crew

arrested. Bakalova (who's actually 23) is nominated for an Oscar for her role in "Moviefilm."

James Gunn announced that a red-band trailer of The Suicide Squad has dropped, Collider noted. Gunn also revealed the official poster for the film, which features the band of villains as well as a long list of the cast, which includes Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, Pete Davidson and John Cena, among others. Gunn's film follows a team of DC villains as they become members of Task Force X and are sent to the South American island of Corto Maltese to destroy Jotunheim, a Nazi-era prison and laboratory. HGTV has greenlighted What Not To Design (working title)—a one-hour pilot starring singer, actress and design enthusiast Raven-Symone, Deadline noted. It is an offshoot from the long-running series What Not To Wear that's on fellow Discovery lifestyle cable network TLC. The What Not To Design pilot follows Raven-Symone and her team of experts—designer Nina Ferrer (HGTV's Design Star) and craftsman James Worsham—as they lead a style intervention to overhaul home-design disasters.

Scarlett Johansson told The Gentlewoman her political views shouldn't impact her career as an actress, according to Page Six. The Black Widow star added that she thinks it's "unfair" to place the expectation on those who don't want it. Johansson also shared her thoughts on the 2020 election, saying that when Joe Biden won the presidency, "You could hear people losing their minds outside, and I just cried." In 2014, she controversially defended her decision to appear in an ad for SodaStream, an Israeli company with a factory situated in a West Bank settlement, and has also been criticized for defending actor/director Woody Allen, who has been accused by estranged daughter Dylan Farrow of sexual abuse. While Johansson said she wants to be able to speak freely, she also acknowledged she's made some wrong calls in the past.

Lifetime is expanding its global Harry & Meghan franchise with a third movie, Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, revealing what ultimately lead to the couple's break from the royal family, a press release stated. Casting is currently underway, with production set to begin this spring for a worldwide debut later this year. Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace follows the 2018 movie Harry & Meghan, following the love story of newlyweds Prince Harry and American actress Meghan; and 2019's Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.

NCIS: New Orleans is ending this year, with the current season seven set to be the last ever of the CBS show, Newsweek noted. NCIS: NOLA is set to have 16 episodes. The March 28 edition of the CBS show was the 11th of these, meaning there are just five more installments of the Scott Bakula-led crime drama to go. CBS, however, will spread these remaining episodes out among the coming months. This means that the as-yet-untitled 16th episode will air Sunday, May 16.

Sting said he regrets reforming The Police in 2007, labelling it "an exercise in nostalgia," according to NME.com . The "Every Breath You Take" hitmaker reunited with bandmates Andy Summers and Stuart Copeland in 2007—almost two decades after they split—and then embarked on a global tour the next year.

Country-music superstar Kenny Chesney has postponed his touring plans for the second consecutive year, pushing plans to perform in stadiums (such as Chicago's Soldier Field and Seattle's Lumen Field) to 2022, USA Today noted. "With the varying local statutes and practices and social distancing, touring in 2021 would mean that a good percentage of people would not be able to come to the show(s)," Chesney's team said in a press release. Ticketholders can request a refund at the original point of purchase, or hold on to their seats for next year.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is joining Chris Pratt in Amazon's conspiracy-thriller series The Terminal List—based on Jack Carr's best-selling novel—in a key recurring role, Deadline noted. Constance Wu, Riley Keough, Taylor Kitsch and Jeanne Tripplehorn also star in the series, which Pratt executive-produces along with Antoine Fuqua, who directs, and writer David DiGilio. The Terminal List follows James Reece (played by Pratt) after his entire platoon of Navy SEALs is ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission; Schwarzenegger, also Pratt's real-life brother-in-law, will play Donny Mitchell.

In a Los Angeles report, actor Thomas Middleditch was accused of groping a woman in front of her friends and several employees at the Cloak & Dagger nightclub, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Los Angeles Times published a report about the Hollywood club in which almost 10 women—including four former staffers—accuse Adam Bravin and Michael Patterson, co-founders of the now-closed club Cloak & Dagger, of turning a blind eye to sexual misconduct among members at the club as well as at its many music festivals. Middleditch broke out with his role on HBO's Silicon Valley and now stars on CBS' freshman comedy B Positive. Deadline noted that Silicon Valley alum Alice Wetturlund responded to the news by tweeting, "Tried to warn you all about Middleditch but noooooo […] not everyone's favorite tinyman who looks like he lives in a clock!"

Tiger King star Joe Exotic's husband Dillon Passage is leaving him, according to Passage's Instagram and a statement Exotic's lawyer made to TMZ, Page Six noted. Exotic's attorney Francisco Hernandez told TMZ that Exotic was "distraught" after receiving a phone call from Passage in prison explaining to him that he was planning to leave him. TMZ added, "Exotic's considering beating him to court, and filing a divorce petition before Dillon can." Exotic and Passage married in December 2017—two months after Exotic's previous husband, Travis Maldonado, died in a self-inflicted, accidental shooting.

Singer Bobby Brown and Kim Ward's son Bobby Jr. recently died at age 28—and the cause of death has been revealed, Extra noted. The L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office autopsy and toxicology reports, obtained by TMZ, indicate a deadly mix of drugs was to blame. According to the documents, alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl were found Bobby Jr.'s system; his death is listed as accidental.

After more than a decade on Twitter, Chrissy Teigen has left the social-media network, according to Variety. The model, TV personality, author and entrepreneur posted a thread on Twitter, telling her more than 13.7 million followers that she was leaving the platform—before deleting the account. In part, Teigen stated, "It's time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that's the right time to call something."

Million Dollar Listing star Fredrick Eklund revealed he was 160 days sober in a lengthy and emotional Instagram post, Page Six noted. "I was a high-functional addict as many of us are, and it took me a while to realize and admit that," he wrote. "I'm a work in progress, still. The decision to stop wasn't easy. But once I really decided, it was actually freeing." He stated that he's "actually more fun" when he's sober and is finding new ways to enjoy experiences, such as having a food-and-drink pairing with mocktails before going horseback riding.

Judge Judy decided not to file a $22-million countersuit against talent agent Richard Lawrence and Rebel Entertainment Partners, and it's because of CBS, Deadline reported. "We decline to file an amended complaint as Mr. Lawrence has insisted that I join Big Ticket [CBS] as a defendant," Judy Sheindlin told Deadline about the battle over profits from the long running syndicated series. "The court has declined to rule that CBS is not a necessary party."

Kylie Jenner (who's a billionaire) was criticized after asking her fans to help pay for her makeup artist's $60,000 brain surgery that was required after a car accident when she could easily have paid for it herself, according to The Daily Mail. The 23-year-old star requested her followers go to a GoFundMe campaign to chip in—and it was revealed the TV star had only put in $5,000 herself. The online campaign is soliciting donations for Samuel Rauda, a makeup artist (and former stylist for Jenner) who underwent emergency surgery after sustaining multiple injuries in a recent car accident.

Singer Joe Jonas celebrated his side project DNCE's "Cake by the Ocean" reaching a billion streams on Spotify—by literally eating McDonald's off the plaque, Billboard noted. "One Billion never tasted so good!" Jonas captioned a March 20 video of himself in a lavish dining room, enjoying the french fries, Chicken McNuggets and a burger that were placed on the music streaming service's silver platter-shaped plaque marking the achievement.
