A walk-in mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic was held in Worcester on Saturday as part of a statewide equity initiative.
The clinic, which ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YMCA on Main Street, was set up for eligible people in 20 prioritized communities and those who are disproportionally impacted by COVID-19, which include the following:
- Black, Indigenous, Latin and people of color
- People who do not speak English or prefer to speak another language
- People who do not have access to public transportation or encounter barriers when trying to get to a vaccination site
- People who do not feel comfortable receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in a traditional health care setting
- People with disabilities and those who have access and functional needs
- People experiencing homelessness
- People with mental illness and/or those with a substance abuse disorder
The single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine was administered at Saturday's equity clinic in Worcester.

Massachusetts residents who are aged 55 and older and people with one qualifying health condition are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Certain essential workers and K-12 educators, K-12 school staff and child care workers are also eligible, along with people who live or work in low-income and affordable care senior housing.
