S. Korea donates AI medical image analysis system to UAE
SEOUL, April 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korea has donated an advanced medical imaging analysis system to a military hospital in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to help improve its health care service, the defense ministry said Monday.
The artificial intelligence (AI) powered medical image analysis system, jointly developed by the defense and ICT ministries from 2020-2023, has been deployed in South Korean military hospitals and division-level medical units.
The ministry said it donated the X-ray equipment and AI image analysis system to Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi and granted access for use of its software to expand bilateral cooperation in the medical sector.
It marks the third installation of the South Korean military's AI medical image analysis system abroad, after installations at hospitals in Uzbekistan and the Philippines last year.
