Germany’s Glenwood opens facility in Philippines
MANILA, Philippines — The local subsidiary of German firm Glenwood GmbH has opened a facility in Taguig City to help pharmaceutical companies ensure drug safety, manage risks and comply with global standards.
In a statement, the Board of Investments (BOI) said Glenwood Services Philippines Inc. (GSPI) opened a new Taguig facility to offer pharmaceutical firms quality, regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance services.
GSPI’s facility, which is registered with the BOI, is the first pharmaceutical services project in the Philippines.
With the new facility, GSPI is making high-level jobs available for pharmacists, chemists and medical science graduates in the country.
Glenwood general manager Ferdinand Matz said the company decided to set up operations in the Philippines given the country’s advantages.
“We are amazed by the incredible talent in the Philippines. The education, skills and training here are impressive. We look forward to expanding our pharmaceutical services project and growing our presence in the Philippines,” he said.
Glenwood also cited the BOI’s crucial role in helping the company establish its presence in the Philippines by providing support during registration.
The BOI said GSPI’s entry into the Philippines underscores the country’s ability to meet international standards.
It also shows that the country can serve as a hub for highly specialized services in the region.
