Vladimir Putin's protected urine and faeces that hold his 'genetic secrets' finally revealed
Russian leader Vladimir Putin goes to great lengths to prevent his genetic details from spilling out - but now an investigation has been able to access his DNA with astonishing revelations
Vladimir Putin keeps his urine and poo heavily guarded to protect his genetic secrets - but they have finally been revealed.
The Russian president has cultivated the image of a virile and macho leader over the years who would be seen out hunting or riding horses bare-backed. And he has gone to extreme measures so that his own genetic make-up isn’t known by the public so as to protect his weaknesses. It means that when away on foreign trips his elite guards have the unpleasant task of collecting his excrement and keeping it in a bag which is brought home.
It is understood to be particularly important while abroad to prevent foreign powers finding out about potential illnesses. Considerable health information can be found out from urine and faeces samples for both physical and mental conditions. It has also been reported that Putin travels with a portable toilet.
Former BBC reporter Farida Rustamova wrote on X: “My source who is an old acquaintance of Putin's told me that the practice of taking his toilet to foreign trips has been around for years, and the Russian leader has been doing this since the beginning of his rule. While traveling around Russia, Putin's guards have the option of clearing used facilities if needed; it is not convenient to do so abroad."

His genetic makeup has been gathered via an analysis of his nephew Mikhail Putin, who is a blood relative and his DNA has been examined.
With the help of hackers and medics, Mikhail’s genetic passport and so that of his uncle were obtained after he visited a clinic in Moscow. First an investigation began to try and find Putin’s blood relatives with plenty of information about his family and friends having been deleted from his official biography over the past 25 years.
One of his favoured relatives though is Mikhail whose fortunes improved dramatically after his uncle became the Russian leader, reported TNS. A psychiatrist by education he went to work in a very different field and become deputy chairman of Gazprom. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov publicly said: “He’s a very distant relative. They hardly communicate.”
But this doesn’t appear to be the truth with Mikhail in a highly influential position where he is rarely seen in public but he oversees his uncle’s interests. And both Mikhail’s son and daughter, Denis and Anastasia, both work for Gazprom.
Looking at Mikhail’s genetic makeup from the Genotek clinic in Moscow it found some normal traits but others that were alarming. Geneticist Dmytro Mykytenko told TNS: “As medical geneticists, we first look at inherited conditions within a family. First-degree relatives include parents, children, siblings, and cousins. Yes, cousins are considered close relatives.”
And in the DNA report it found positive traits including creativity and willingness to take risks but the TNS investigation stated: “In the decoded DNA data we accessed, we saw a section labelled with alarming genetic mutations—including paranoia.”
And Mr Mykytenko said: “Some people are naturally more resilient, others less so. Is this person resilient? Probably not. Social environment matters greatly. Given absolute power, someone genetically vulnerable might ‘lose touch with reality.’ Could this be hereditary? Partially, yes. Mikhail inherited these genetic variants partly from his mother, partly from his father. The test doesn’t specify exactly from whom. But we clearly see this trait present.”
And, interestingly, with plenty of talk about whether Putin is suffering from illness as he has often been seen appearing to shake, it could be a genetic link. He was found to possibly have Dupuytren’s contracture—a disease causing hand deformities.
The TNS investigation found: "Mikhail Putin’s genetic risk for this disease is high. It begins with nodules, eventually deforming the fingers. The exact cause is unknown, but it's clearly hereditary—usually affecting men after 45. We can't medically diagnose Putin or his nephew, but at least one clearly has genetic predisposition confirmed by testing.
