The Defense Health Agency has announced that TRICARE beneficiaries in Alabama can obtain emergency prescription refills through March 25, 2025, due to recent storm damage affecting all counties in the state.
Beneficiaries are advised to bring their prescription bottles to any TRICARE retail network pharmacy. If the prescription bottle is unavailable or the label is damaged or missing, beneficiaries should contact Express Scripts, Inc., or their retail network pharmacy for assistance.

To locate a network pharmacy, beneficiaries can call Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303 or use the network pharmacy locator. If possible, beneficiaries should visit the pharmacy where the prescription was originally filled. Prescriptions filled by a retail chain may be refilled at another store within that chain. If the prescribing clinician is available, beneficiaries can request a new prescription be called into any network pharmacy.
TRICARE beneficiaries, excluding active duty service members, may receive urgent care from any TRICARE-authorized urgent care center or provider without needing a referral. This provision allows beneficiaries to seek nonemergency care for illnesses or injuries if their primary care provider is unavailable due to emergencies. In the event of an emergency, beneficiaries should call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to check Express Scripts’ Weather Notices page for updates.
