Illinois bill would require public higher ed. institutions to provide contraception, abortion medication

SPRINGFIELD (25News Now) - A bill backed by Illinois Democrats would require public community colleges and universities with student health services to provide contraception and abortion medication is headed to the house floor.

School health centers would have to discuss contraception and abortion options with students before sending prescriptions to campus pharmacies.

The bill would also require that the services be provided through in-person, telehealth or other licensed providers.
