Osage County Deputies arrest two people for Illegal Drug Possession
OSAGE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) - Osage County sheriff’s deputies made two arrests this week, both involving illegal drugs.
The first incident occurred the morning of March 19th, when Osage County deputies were investigating a report of a stolen camper trailer at 12544 South Topeka Avenue, near Carbondale.
During the investigation, a female was taken into custody on a Shawnee County arrest warrant. Illegal narcotics were also found in her possession.
Melinda Stafford, 44, of Topeka was arrested and booked into the Osage Co. Jail Facility on the following:
· Possession of methamphetamine
· Possession of drug paraphernalia
· Shawnee County warrant
Just a day later, on March 20th, at 9:22 am, another arrest took place. An Osage County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation at the junction of K-68 and K-268 highways, near Quenemo.
During the stop, the deputy discovered illegal narcotics in the vehicle.
The driver, Curtis McCammon, 46, of Waverly, was arrested and booked into the Osage Co. Jail Facility on the following:
· Possession of methamphetamine
· Possession of drug paraphernalia
· Operating a motor vehicle without a valid license
