Lewis Capaldi's huge music comeback confirmed as celeb pal reveals his new album
Lewis Capaldi is set to make his huge music comeback, as his friend Yungblud confirmed he has heard new songs from the star - and they sound "great".
Lewis Capaldi is reportedly set to make a grand return to the music scene after taking some time out of the limelight for personal reasons.
The singer's close friend has let slip that Lewis' voice is sounding better than ever after his break from the public eye since 2023.
Capaldi emotionally announced a hiatus from his music career to concentrate on his mental well-being and manage his Tourette Syndrome, sharing his decision during an emotional moment at Glastonbury Festival.
There, he candidly discussed his challenges, bringing attention to his condition. Following his appearance at Glastonbury, he shared with fans his need for a sabbatical from the industry to focus on self-care, the Mirror reports.
The star felt compelled to rest and recuperate following several "mentally and physically" taxing months, leading to the cancellation of all upcoming performances.
Expressing that his condition had deteriorated, struggling with increased tics on stage, Capaldi admitted the possibility of having to leave music if his situation didn't improve.
During his time away, Capaldi remained out of the spotlight, yet his musician pal Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, has spilled the beans on Lewis's imminent comeback.
While previewing his own new album, Yungblud mentioned being motivated by Capaldi, who encouraged him in his recording process.
Yungblud excitedly talked up Capaldi's pending return to music by remarking: "I have heard his new music and it sounds great. He is getting his mental health right. I love him, as me and him have been on this ride together."
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "We experienced it at the same time and he is perhaps the only friend who knows what I am going through, in the same way I know what he's going through."
During his emotional Glastonbury performance, Lewis was overwhelmed and turned to the audience for support, admitting that his voice had "packed it in" and asking them to sing along.
The supportive Glastonbury crowd helped carry Lewis through his poignant set. Addressing the packed festival, he revealed he had taken a three-week hiatus to "rest and recover", yet was still battling with his Tourette's syndrome.
His Glastonbury appearance culminated in a stirring rendition of 'Someone You Loved', with the audience stepping in to passionately sing the majority of the song as Lewis moved across the Pyramid Stage.
Following his Glastonbury gig, Lewis disclosed in a moving statement that he had been grappling with mental health issues for several months and decided to take an indefinite break from performing. He expressed: "The fact that this probably won't come as a surprise doesn't make it any easier to write."
In a candid social media post, Lewis explained: "I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I'd hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out. But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come,".
Capaldi took a step back from his bustling career, cancelling the remainder of his sold-out tour and postponing new music releases to focus on his mental health.
Six months into his hiatus, he brought joy to his supporters by sharing an update, expressing gratitude for their support and kind messages, and noting a "marked improvement" in his condition.

Indicating his intention to ensure full recovery before returning to the limelight, Lewis said: "For now I'm going to continue taking some time to carry on looking after myself, maybe writing some music and taking a moment to reflect on some of the most incredible years of my life.
"I want to make absolutely sure I'm 100% before getting back out there again properly for more shows and doing what I love more than anything!" he further stated.
While Lewis has remained silent on the speculation surrounding his return to music and a potential third album, he's been seen enjoying walks in his homeland of Scotland. Last year, he made a rare public appearance at Kendall Jenner's Halloween bash.
