Dexcom has began its hiring process ahead of its opening, with highly skilled jobs already open on job portals.

Staff were delighted to share that they are now seeking a Talent Acquisition Advisor (TAA) to help with hiring the 1,000 'highly skilled employees' needed at the coming Athenry factory.

Dexcom broke ground on the Athenry green-field site in January 2024, having announced in 2023 that they would bring 1,000 jobs to the town.

Fiona McLoughlin, head of talent acquisition at Dexcom, was excited to begin the final stretch to Dexcom's expected opening in 2026.

Offering the vital role of Talent Acquisition Advisor (TAA) for the Athenry operations and the 1,000 jobs that go with it, Fiona McLoughin wrote to LinkedIn: "As part of Dexcom Ireland - Athenry's factory stand-up, we will be hiring 1,000 highly skilled employees."

The medical device giant now has 9 employees for its Athenry operation, with the TAA expected to be one of the last pre-operations hire before the titanic task of choosing 1,000 of Galway's best from a massive expected pool of applicants.

Dexcom is a world leader in real-time glucose monitoring for those with diabetes and will establish a state-of-the-art facility in Athenry. It represents one of the largest single private sector investments ever in the west of Ireland.

The new facility in Athenry will be Dexcom's first in Europe and will serve customers throughout the EMEA and will have the capacity to produce millions of Dexcom rtCGM sensors each year.

Dexcom is also set to secure the naming rights for the Sportsground in a deal that will last for 12 years. The stadiums new name will be Dexcom Stadium.
