Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz ordered “a second wave of strikes against dozens of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon”, the Defence Ministry said, in the largest escalation since a November 27 ceasefire. It said the strikes were “a response to rocket fire towards Israel and a continuation of the first series of strikes carried out this morning” against southern Lebanon.

Delimitation row: Southern states are punished for achieving targets: Kerala CM, Karnataka Deputy CM

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the attitude of the BJP-led Union government towards southern States seems to be on the lines of “now you have a smaller population and you deserve less funds and less representation”. Addressing the first Joint Action Committee meeting on Fair Delimitation, he said the BJP government was going ahead with the delimitation process without any consultation, and the sudden move was not driven by any constitutional consequence or democratic imperative, but for very narrow political gains. Mr. Vijayan said if delimitation was carried out purely on the basis of population, Kerala and southern states would suffer. D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, said the proposed delimitation exercise, based solely on population, was not just a technical adjustment, but a political assault on the Southern states.

Three killed, 15 injured in shooting at Young Park in New Mexico’s Las Cruces

Three people died and 15 others were injured after an altercation broke out Friday (March 21, 2025) at a park in the desert city of Las Cruces, New Mexico, police said Saturday (March 22, 2025). Between 50 and 60 shell casings — all from handguns — were found scattered across a wide swath of the large park, Las Cruces Police Chief Jeremy Story said, suggesting multiple shooters and multiple weapons within two groups whose “ill will” toward each other police believe led to the shootings. Several others were injured in the crossfire, he said. Those who died were two 19-year-old men and a 16-year-old boy. Local police were being assisted in their investigation by New Mexico State Police, the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
