A woman was left gutted after her husband of six months blurted out an ex's name in the throes of passion.
The middle-aged lovebirds, who have been an item for three years and recently tied the knot, had their honeymoon period rudely interrupted. During an intimate encounter, the husband made a slip of the tongue that he probably won't live down any time soon.
Haunted by a ghost from his past at the most inopportune time, the crestfallen wife shared that her other half had previously been entwined in a decade-long romance with his high school flame, which ended when she abruptly left him for a younger colleague.
Opening up to Daily Mail's agony aunt Jane Green about her heartache, the anonymous spouse confessed she'd harboured fears her hubby might still carry a torch for his former spouse. Although she had managed to suppress such doubts, they've now come roaring back, impossible to ignore.
She recalled the mortifying bedroom mishap to Jane: "My husband and I were having sex a few nights ago and he said the name of his ex-wife - loud and clear. I immediately pulled away and started to cry," reports the Mirror.
The bloke was absolutely mortified and he rushed to reassure his missus that it was just a daft error, insisting it meant nothing. His wife tried to buy into his comforting words, but she's been struggling to shake off the sense of betrayal, and her agonising curiosity has only added to the pain.
She took to snooping on the ex-girlfriend's Facebook and clocked that her relationship status had changed to single. "I'm ashamed to admit I have stalked her many times before, and I know for a fact her account used to say she was 'married' to the man she left my husband for," she confessed in her write-up.
Now she's absolutely tortured with thoughts – fretting whether her hubby and the ex-flame might have rekindled some old spark following the ex's apparent split from her spouse. Seeking solace and advice, she poured her heart out to an agony aunt about whether to confront the old girlfriend or grill her bloke for the truth.
Temptation is even gnawing at her to set up a bogus Facebook profile to berate the ex for potentially sniffing around a married man.
In reply, agony aunt Jane sympathised deeply with her predicament, pointing out that her problem is based more on 'feelings' than 'facts', and dishing out blame like that will likely leave her looking (and feeling) totally bonkers.
Jane advised her to dig deep into what's really eating away at her trust and put forward EMDR—a psychotherapy approach aimed to help folk get over trauma-based ailments. Plus, she reminded her that each heartache is nothing if not a precious lesson paving the way to personal growth and betterment.

In a shocking revelation, another woman has shared her horror at accidentally sleeping with her half-sibling. Victoria Hill purchased an online DNA test to gain insight into a health concern, but was left devastated when the results showed she had at least 23 half-siblings and that her biological father was not the man who raised her.
The 40 year old married mother of two from Connecticut, US, always wondered why she looked and behaved so differently from her father, even jokingly suggesting she might be the mailman's child. However, the truth turned out to be far more disturbing - after connecting with some of the siblings identified in her family tree results, she discovered her biological father was her mother's fertility doctor.
The doctor, now deceased, had been assisting Victoria's mother to conceive using donated sperm. Shockingly, he used his own sperm, allegedly without her knowledge or consent.
Victoria's mother claims she was deceived by the doctor, who told her he would use sperm from an anonymous medical student. Disturbingly, this wasn't the first time he'd tricked a patient - at least 23 individuals claim they were conceived as a result of the doctor secretly using his own sperm.
Victoria made a shocking discovery that began as just the beginning of a much bigger scandal. After summoning the courage to confide in friends about the troubling situation, her former high school sweetheart became suspicious and opted for a DNA test.
Her phone later buzzed with a shattering message from him: "You are my sister".
She recounted the sequence of events, "We figured it out, there was a high school reunion, we started sharing info with close friends and fast forward to a dinner and it was at that time that as I'm telling this story, my high school boyfriend, now friend, looked like he was turning something over in his head. His mother had recently told him that the reason why him and his brother, who is also a really good friend of mine, that his mother went for fertility treatment with his father. So we just kind of assumed that she must have gone to the same place."
Continuing her tale, she revealed, "He ultimately called his mother and his mother confirmed that the same doctor had performed the same procedure. So then it was a waiting game. We sat there in disbelief that this was something we were entertaining. We made jokes but it felt very surreal. Then in a couple of weeks, he sent me the screenshot that you are my sister."
Victoria added, "It was just one next thing that hits after another. We still don't know what is to come."
