Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs predictions
Whoever gets the call in the blue paint on Tuesday, the trio goalie tandem the Flyers possess are posting lacklustre results this year. Whether it’s Ersson, Fedotov or Kolosov, starting, all three netminders hold a combined .880 save percentage and a 3.39 GAA.
Calder Trophy candidate Matvei Michkov is one of the bright spots for the Flyers in this floundering year. Against Chicago, the 20-year-old acquired two assists in under 17 minutes of work. Sitting third overall in the NHL’s rookie points race, Michkov has registered 20 goals and 50 points.
Toronto’s top point-getter this term, Mitch Marner obtained a goal and an assist against Nashville on Saturday. With 85 points on the season, Marner is on pace to crack the century mark for the first time in his career.
The Maple Leafs’ top scorer this campaign, William Nylander has now gone three straight contests without lighting the lamp.
The Swedish international has sniped home 38 tallies, which is two behind his career-high that was set in the previous two seasons. Through 673 regular season games, Nylander has amassed 601 points.
Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs tip
In the stretch drive toward the conclusion of the regular season, the Philadelphia Flyers have shown signs of languishing play. Overall in their last ten outings, Philadelphia has only been able to secure one victory.
Sitting in last place in the Metropolitan Division, the Flyers have given up the fourth-highest amount of goals in the league with 247.
We feel with Philadelphia’s form of late, Toronto will use this game in a rebound situation. The Leafs will be in a sour mood after Saturday's lapse.
Toronto is in the midst of a battle to take the crown in the Atlantic Division, and with that, our thinking is Toronto has plenty more to play for.
