Those with disabilities, injuries or chronic conditions will have a new resource for recovery and treatment when a rehabilitation center opens at Promenade Saucon Valley this year.

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation will open its 4,764-square-foot facility this fall at the Upper Saucon Township shopping center, a news release announced, behind the Red Robin.

It will provide outpatient care for patients recovering from conditions and injuries such as strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries and chronic pain.

“Our new location at Promenade Saucon Valley, which is conveniently close to Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital on Center Valley Parkway, will provide centralized, convenient outpatient access for the patients and families we serve throughout the area,” Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs Sandeep Singh said in the release. “In addition to opening this new location at Promenade Saucon Valley, Good Shepherd will also continue to provide outpatient physician care at our South Allentown Campus on 5th Street.”

Promenade General Manager Patrick Turner said in the release, “Promenade Saucon Valley is honored to have been chosen as the site for the newest Good Shepherd Rehabilitation facility. Good Shepherd’s expert medical team plays a vital role in helping traumatic injury patients and their families through difficult circumstances, and we invite everyone to welcome them to the center and the community.”

Other Promenade openings shoppers can look forward to before the fall include the luxury consignment store Relux and the pottery painting studio Color Me Mine.

Good Shepherd began in 1908 in Allentown under Rev. John Raker and his wife Estelle. It has since expanded to just under 30 locations in eastern Pennsylvania, the news release added.

The four-story, 123,000-square-foot facility inpatient hospital at Center Valley Parkway opened in 2023 while the Fifth Street facility opened in 1967.
