Picket lines across rail stations across the country by members from the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, were set up in 2023 and the ambulance staff walked out also in 2023.

3,100 National Express bus drivers walked out in a row over pay in March 2023, bringing public transport to a standstill in the city.

Again in 2023, teachers rallied in Centenary Square taking strike action in March over pay and conditions.
