Cristiano Ronaldo has been paraded by new club Juventus after completing his £88million move from Real Madrid.

The Portuguese superstar did his medical in Italy today and joins up with Juve as they chase an eighth consecutive league crown next season.

The whole of Italy appears to be excited by the arrival of the five-time Ballon D'Or winner and it somewhat puts to rest suggestions that the Serie A cannot recruit top players.

Ronaldo leaves Madrid after winning La Liga and the Copa Del Rey twice and the Champions League four times with Real and has signed a deal worth a staggering £500,000-a-week over four years at Juve.

He said: "Well, I had a great career at Real Madrid , we won everything, but it’s now it’s time for a new challenge.

"I’m happy, motivated, and I want to prove in Italy that I’m a top player. I don’t have anything to prove, the numbers speak for themselves. But I don’t want to get into a comfort zone, I was at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and now I’m ready for a new challenge.

"Juventus is one of the greatest teams in the world so it was an easy decision to make, they have a great coach, a great (club) president and it’s a great city."

The Turin giants are hoping that signing Ronaldo can make the difference for them in Europe and help them to capture the Champions League crown that has now eluded them for 22 years.

When speaking to the press, Ronaldo described the raucous reception he received from Juve's fans as a "beautiful moment" gave the impression that he's in it for the long haul with Italian football's Old Lady.

He said: "Of course I want to win it again, but not just the Champions League, the Scudetto as well, all of them.

"But we have to be patient, it’s a very difficult tournament to win.

"Juve have been close many times but it’s hard and we have to take everything in our stride, be patient and see what happens.

"I’m looking forward to getting started and I wish the league started tomorrow. I’m someone who thrives on challenges and coming to Juventus is one."

A few people have raised eyebrows at the figures involved for a 33-year-old attacking player, but Ronaldo is not bothered by that.

He's confident his physique can stand up to the rigours of the Italian game and hasn't written off adding to his five Ballor D'Or accolades.

Ronaldo said: "I haven’t thought about it, never thought about winning two or three and now I have five.

"I won one at Manchester United and at Real Madrid, so why not here?

"But everything will come naturally and in its own good time. I’m ready and age doesn’t matter.

"I’m different from other players, I’m 33 now but I’m really looking forward to this new stage in my career. I’m looking forward to this new experience.

"It’s a difficult challenge but what am I going to do? Sit around in a chair at home?

"I have confidence in my new teammates and I’m going to work hard to give the best of myself."
